Of course Fox News et al got it all wrong too, but it’s good to see Cheney taken to task; not that it will matter at all in the big scheme of things.

At least it belies the fact that Fox News is slanted, something that all of you MSNBC/Obama lovers seem to think.

Cheney will never admit they were wrong. The Bush administration started the destabilization of the area. The american people wanted out, because we knew we had been lied to. That’s one of the primary reason Obama got elected. USA World’s Policemen, deciding who can lead and who can’t. Sure is biting ourselves in the ass.

I will say this one more time for those who believe BUSH lied about WMD in Iraq. In order for GW Bush to have LIED about WMD in Iraq he would have to have been the ONLY person on the face of the earth to “KNOW” there were NO WMDs in IRAQ because everyone else in the WORLD, every intelligence agency every Senator etc, Including Saddam Hussein believed IRAQ had WMD. So no we were NOT lied to by Bush about WMD!!

If he didn’t lie, then he sure changed his tune real quick. he use wmds to convince the american people to go into iraq.No wmds found. Once no weapon were found we should have left. So he thought up excuses to keep us there. first was a regime change, then to bring democracy, finally to fight al qaeda. We can go thru each point and how wrong he was on each of them. let me know if you have time

Saddam was in clear violation of the cease fire agreement with the UN, that was good enough for me to go in to Iraq. I never understood why the Bush admin didnt make that the point.

I agree!! People forget that the cease fire agreement was still in effect and that Saddam had violated that agreement hundreds of times. No authorization for resumption of hostilities was necessary. The problem we face as a nation is that we know longer fight wars to WIN because to win you MUST PACIFY the enemy and we are NOT willing to take those measures since WWII–for that reason alone we will NEVER “WIN” another war.

Bush was looking for any excuse to invade Iraq, and the U.N. resolution was the red herring that was used, along with the phony “weapons of mass destruction” tale. I kept waiting for an Iraqi version of the false Gulf of Tonkin incident to occur.

Kelly is absolutely correct. The Cheny-Bush invasion of Iraq which, based on their incorrect analyasis that was designed to result in American hegmony, politicially and economically, over the region, is perhaps the worst American foreign policy decision post World War II, and the only example of American imperialism in my lifetime. The region, and the world, since the U.S. took out Iran’s only enemy, is less safe than it was.
