The FBI’s Facebook page has been slammed with a rash of negative reviews since the news broke that Hillary Clinton would not be indicted for her email scandals, and it does not look like it will be slowing down anytime soon. In the age of social media who needs pitchforks and torches when angry mobs come in the form of keyboard warriors who use CAPSLOCK to express their anger, disgust, and distrust for government agencies.
In 48 hours, the FBI’s Facebook review ratings plummeted from 3.8 to 1.9 stars. As it stands at time of publishing, there are 11k five-star reviews, 1.7k four-star reviews, 1.6k three-star reviews, 1.5k two-star reviews, and a whopping 47k one-star reviews. With more negative reviews rolling in by the minute, the review rating is sure to drop even further. Many of the reviewers are quoting 18 U.S. Code § 798 on “Disclosure of Classified Information” and 18 U.S. Code § 793 on “Gathering, Transmitting, or Losing Defense Information” in their reviews, holding the FBI accountable for their failings, by the book, quite literally.
