Store Clerk Cooly Pulls Pistol And Blasts Armed Thief

Two thieves attempted to rob a Quick-Stop in Youngstown, Ohio last May. But a quick-thinking (and quick on the draw) clerk pulled his pistol and made short work of one of them. One of the thieves was wounded by the clerk while the other fled. Luckily both were captured later in the evening with only a small amount of damage done to the store.

Youngstown police are calling the shooting justified. “In the right situation, someone who is responsible and very knowledgeable with a weapon, they have the right to protect themselves,” said Struthers Police Chief Tim Roddy.

The best part of the video is someone in the back asks: “What was that?” and the clerk replies, “Me shooting someone.”

Classic.

Nicely done. Cool hand for sure.

That is someone who has practiced with their carry weapon a lot. Everyone who carries should be so effective.

I don’t know why, but I’m not the least bit surprised at this police chief’s stupid statement. What does the “right” situation, being “responsible, and being “very knowledgeable with a weapon” have anything to do with having the right to protect yourself?

No, Tim. You have the right to protect yourself in ANY situation where you feel your life is endanger. There are no other requirements to that statement.
