Teen Attempts Suicide, Cops Arrive & Kill Him

Don’t do the government’s job for them.

Christian Sierra’s parents called the police for help when they found him with a knife threatening suicide. Police arrived and shot him to death, claiming that he “lunged” at them.

From the Washington Post:

Christian began cutting himself with a knife, his mother said, and a friend called 911 shortly after 2 p.m.

Sandra Sierra said the call worried her son, who fled the home in the 100 block of Frazer Drive by jumping off a balcony. A friend gave chase.

Kelly Sobel, a neighbor several doors down, was getting out of the shower when she heard her neighbor scream: “Stop! Stop!”

Sobel glanced out the window and saw the neighbor running down her front steps with a dish towel. Sandra Sierra said her son was bloody at that point.

Sobel said that a second later, she heard Christian Sierra and the friend chasing him barrel into her garage door with a loud boom.

The friend and her neighbor tried to calm Sierra, but he took off again, Sobel said. The friend and neighbor followed, she said. “They were flying down the street,” Sobel said.

Christian Sierra rounded a corner.  Several witnesses said they heard a police officer yell “Freeze!” or “Stop!” and then heard shots. Sobel said she heard three or four pops.

So sad and this is why I never call the cops, sheesh, what a mess they usually make of an already bad situation. Can’t really place the blame anywhere with such little information, such as what did the cops know about the knife wielding teen when they shot him????

Shouldn’t matter. Shooting a suspect used to be the last resort, no matter the situation.

This is what happens when you adopt the zero tolerance posture. Common sense is out the door, the human touch is out the door, compassion is no longer part of it and everything is just an algorithm: When ‘x” happens you are cleared to do “y” so they do “y” and they don’t have to tell you why

Suicide by cop. It is a common occurrence.

Why are we investing in Tasers and other forms of non lethal weapons. He had a knife, the prongs of the taser would have gone a large distance. Even if he threw the knife at them, I know they would have been able to dodge it. I mean, I took karate and I sparred with weapons a lot larger and worse than a knife and I still managed to defend myself without fatal shots. This is just being lazy and lack common sense. Not all cops are bad, but many are just bullies with a badge.

WTF kind of reporting is this????

Your article is misleading and ignorant. Post the part of the article that shows the kid LUNGED at the officer with a knife. What was the officer supposed to do? The kid OBVIOUSLY had a death wish,, and would take someone with him, especially the last person who can stop him. Stop spreading such vile ignorance, this isn’t journalism.

The article doesn’t “show” that he lunged at the officer, and how could it even do that? Are you saying someone recorded the whole event on video?

The article only states that the officer CLAIMS that he lunged. Even IF this is true, the officer could have responded by Tasering him, pepper spraying him or incapacitating him in a variety of ways other than pumping him full of lead.

The family needs to step up and admit they did not teach their son about personal responsibility. The boy put himself, ALL BY HIMSELF, in a very bad situation. “Thats” the bottom line!

The police are becoming increasingly belligerent and unprofessional. Many officers are unfit to be police officers. I believe this is part of the Marxist takeover.
