Well, 2016 is coming to a close bringing about the new year of 2017. Even though libertarian-minded folk do not like being told what to do, by others or buy themselves, let’s check out some ideas for New Year’s resolutions.
1) Get involved in your state and county Libertarian Party affiliates
If you have Libertarian impulses, capitalize on them by getting involved with your local affiliates. At the county and state level, getting involved and volunteering will help grow the party immensely. Yes, you can make a big difference.
2) Treat yourself with some cool liberty themed clothing accessories
You can find great liberty-themed shirts, hoodies, hats and more all over the internet. (The above shirt comes from libertariancountry.com)
3) Make taxation theft again
If we work hard and work together, perhaps we can make this happen in 2017. Remember, taxation is theft.
4) Get in or get out on Bitcoin
Over the past few years the value of Bitcoin has steadily risen a great amount for the most part. If you bought a lot early and for cheap, you may consider selling off. If you don’t own any Bitcoin yet, but you would like to do so and you have faith in it’s increasingly attractive value, you may want to buy in now before the price range gets to high.
5) Go to liberty themed conventions and events
The above picture is from the 2016 Libertarian National Convention. There will not be a national convention in 2017, but there are other conventions and events you can attend. Many of the Libertarian Party state affiliates will be holding state conventions next year, and you can also attend events like YALCON and CPAC.
6) Meet other Libertarians and grow your network
Whether you send them a friend request after seeing their ‘taxation is theft’ meme, or you meet them at a local Libertarian county affiliate meeting, it’s good to grow your network within the Liberty Movement.
7) Read more books on libertarianism
You can get a good read with Hayek, Rothbard, Ron Paul, or even the Constitution. This helps you become a more well rounded Libertarian and will help you with your advocacy.
8) Take over the government to leave everybody alone
The campaign slogan of the former Libertarian presidential candidate Austin Petersen. Libertarians, as a whole, can do this. You must get active now. Reach out to other Libertarians and your local affiliates as they will certainly help you.
