An interesting video popped up yesterday on Twitter and it was then picked up by Fox News. It was shot at a BLM rally in Philadelphia on Tuesday, presumably near the location of the Democratic National Convention. In an ironic choice of words, the organizer who was speaking through a bullhorn repeatedly orders all white media members to move to the back of the line.
“White media get to the back! Black media come to the front!” she shouted.
As a few media members were slow to comply, she continued, “Excuse me, sir!” she yelled. “Somebody needs to tell this person to get to the back. Go! Somebody needs to tell these folks to get to the back!” and “We are not afraid to put people out! White people to the back! Black people to the front!”
Now, this is a BLM rally and the organizers can do whatever they choose. It just seems to me that a gathering of this nature would have a lot more impact if people of all backgrounds were walking together in unity, rather than sending some people to the back based on the color of their skin. When calls for unity and equality are presented using the same rules that were so oppressive during the Civil Rights Era, you have to question what some in the BLM movement are actually trying to accomplish.
