Spotlight on a Libertarian: Randy Wiseman

Randy Wiseman has an impressive list of accomplishments.  He is an active member of St. Edwards Episcopal Church in Mt. Dora, FL, where he volunteers with his church youth group and takes part in readings during Sunday services.

For 45 years, he has owned Wiseman Gymnastics Academy in Mount Dora, FL. He’s been a Florida Real Estate Broker for 30 years and the Owner of Wiseman Properties for  30 years as well.  Randy has also been a Trained Facilitator and Mediator for 2 decades.

In 1968, Randy graduated from Hialeah High School in Hialeah, FL and soon after attended Miami Dade Community College. Later, while attending Murray State University in Murray, KY, he met his wife, LuAnne Wiseman. Randy and LuAnne have been married for 45 years. Together they have three grown sons, Lucas, Brett, and Joshua. One is married to a woman, one is married to a man, and one is very private.

Liberty Viral (LV):  Are you a member of state and or national LP?

Randy:  Yes both Former Lake County School Board Member. (Chairman one year) Statewide Legislative Chairman for the Florida School Boards Association Candidate for the Florida House of Representatives Candidate for Mount Dora Mayor

LV:  How did you get introduced to the liberty movement, and when did you get actively involved?

Randy:  I have always lived a libertarian life. Made it official in the fall of ’17 – What cause is most important to you within the movement? Downsizing government and Transparency in government

LV:  Who is your liberty role model and why?

Randy:  I would say the young libertarians I have met on the trail. Their passion is ighly motivating.

LV:  In your opinion, which active Libertarian is most influential, and why?

Randy:  I believe they are to numerous to list.

LV:  How would you approach someone who is showing an initial interest in Libertarianism?

Randy:  Sharing my beliefs directly and honestly.

LV:  What is the first book you would tell someone who is interested in the LP to read?

Randy:  The Man Versus The State by Herbert Spencer

LV:  What do you like most about being involved in the LP?

Randy:  The comfortable feeling of being aligned with self minded people.

LV:  If you could eliminate one Government agency, which would it be and why?

Randy:  The Dept of Education. Education is best handled on the local level.

LV:  What plans do you have to to grow the party in 2017?

Randy:  My running for Florida Governor.

LV:  What words of advice would you give to other Libertarians on how to get involved in the party, locally and nationally?

Randy:  Be willing to campaign, from knocking on doors to contributing money.

LV:  Randy, thanks so much for participating.  Now is the part of the interview where we have a little bit of fun.  Pretend you’re our CEO. What three concerns about the firm’s future keep you up at night?

Randy:  Nothing keeps me up at night. I am a child of God!

LV:  If you could have a super power, what would it be and why?

Randy:  To fly

LV:  What song best describes you?

Randy:  “Here comes the sun”

LV:  What is your favorite book?

Randy:  I have many.

LV:  What is the last book you read?

Randy:  One second after

LV:  What is your favorite genre of music?

Randy:  Celtic

LV:  If you could spend an hour with any human to ever exist, alive or dead, who would it be and why? Randy:  Jesus

LV:  If you were stranded on a deserted island, what are 3 things you would want with you, and why?

Randy:  A sailboat and nautical map.

LV:  How do you define success and how do you measure it?

Randy:  Achieving ones goals.

LV:  What is your least favorite thing about humanity?

Randy:  Disrespect
